From 2002... a portrait of my gentle-spirit sleddog, Peter Pan. He was so sweet, like the purity of the kindest plush-toy brought to life.
(I have kept his ashes, as I have for all my Pack who have passed... and when I die, I want my ashes to be mixed with theirs...)
*howls softly for love and gentleness*

I'm so sorry for your loss, the world lost another angel with his passing. TT_TT
The feeling of emotion that you portraid here is enough to bring me to tears, I can relate to losing something that near to my heart. It's always hard when someone so gentle and kind is ripped away from us. One feels that they will stay forever and can never imagine that their dog will have it's day. Sadly, our lifetime stretches many more than theirs, and they must depart the world is such fashion, as we all must, but I believe that they never truely leave us.
You can always find them in your heart, warming it with the joy of having had the gift of the time they gave to you, rather than the time you must now spend without them. Then, when your heart starts to feel cold in your loss, those memories will warm you as they serve their purpose. They are a reminder to you. A reminder that when you too leave this world, you will find the ones lost by the ways of time, waiting ever faithful, to sing and dance with you once again.
That's what I believe.
* sniffles and hugs you*
