those that play DnD/ Pathfinder know the Balor demon as a large Balrog looking beast.( they where named Balrogs in first edition DnD, but that changed due to legal actions from the Tolkien Estate)

Now My Balor Looks a bit diffrent. It has a single eye that fires of beams of death.

Balor was a king Of the formorians in pre christian Ireland. He hade a single eye or two normal eyes, depending on the source, oneday some toxic vapour seeped into his eye from a cauldron and he ahde to keep it close, for his gaze ever after was death. it required several lesser Fomorians to open his heavy eyelid to destroye their foes.

Fomorians was a race of giants or older gods, driven from the land of ireland and into the sea by the new gods. they are sometimes described as haveing Ramsheads
