The calm before the battle is broken as the thunder of countless footfalls rises in the air. Voices ring out and metal clangs against metal. I let the heat within me start seeping out, lines of light tracing a burning path along my body. Others shudder away from the oncoming wall of soldiers but i welcome it. The frenzy makes my heart race. I feel like my blood is boiling, like my entire being is engulfed in searing flames. Everyday I live but on the battlefield I am alive.
