I like it. Not sure about the encircling of the stright lines over the flank area, if that encompassing line had not been there, i think it might have fared better cuz that just SUCKS my eyeballs right outta my face and onto that section of the drawing. So it kind of makes the composition a bit odd, other than that though, there are a lot of techniques in there that I like.. very nice overall!

I guess horses are like old sailing ships, sword fighting, and listening to Jack Benny on the radio. When you're far enough away from it that you don't have to picture yourself shoveling up after it, it becomes nostagia. I myself like old cars from the turn of the century up to the 1980's.

One thing I'm afraid of is that I'll live long enough to see books printed on paper added to the list of nostalgia things.

I can tell you really love horses friend. You did a fine job here, as hwse metioned though the pattern on the flank draws your eyes right to it. Other than that a fine looking animal. You do some very awesome drawing I truly envy your skills. You and yours have an excellent day.

The forms and shadows are brilliant, but I think I can see what you mean about not liking the inking; it does seem rather scratchy and harsh against the softer blacks and grays.
