I've not tried 5e personally, but alot of my friends say pathfinder is alot more combat oriented. (It's basically a revised 3e) Personally, I enjoy combat in session a huge amount myself, and like to keep alot of the general "roleplay" to the side in text rps, so that's never something I've seen as a downside!
