And yes, I did roll with actual whale shark size.
After putzing around some I came to the conclusion that Sidon's something about 12 to 13 feet (judging by screencaps and the confirmed canon of Link being 5'8" in his more adult incarnations), which would put our red friend right into the size category of your average male Great White.
And seeing that there's Zora taller than him (hi there, King Dorephan), there was no reason not to roll with the 40 feet and up for a whale shark.
No need to say, you all know where this is going at some point or another though.
