Little Kendi was picked on as a child. The other children teased her. She was a mutt. A mixed breed. She didn't have pretty hair like the other girls. Just a scruffy tuft of fur.
One day they made her cry. They pulled her fur and made fun of her clothes. But today an older boy was watching.
"Don't listen to them" he said as he placed a beautiful ring of flowers over her head. "I think you're pretty". He added with a smile. "My names Salem". Kendi couldn't reply. She just sniffled and wiped her wet eyes, touching one paw gently to the soft array of flowers around her head. "I like you. Do you want to come play?" he asked, holding his hand out to her. Kendi paused for a moment before taking his outstretched paw, following him towards the playground.
Kendi meets Salem for the first time. And thus a beautiful friendship was born <3Art ©
