EOCostello said that the armor was silver-steel, very light but very strong.
Katfeathers is more or less correct, insofar as to what my intent was. Silver-steel is highly magickal, and is used for equipment that is supposed to have magickal properties over and above normal Elven craftsfurship. It's also used for other items, by show-offs.
Heh, take modern stainless steel back to the time frame of all this and most would probably take it for mystically / magically pure metal. And those like WW5 who could tell better would probably boggle that a) it's not busting with magic and b) it's actually outside of the iron geas.
