Personality/Relationships: Poseidon is an incredibly loud and good-humored man with a hearty laugh who dearly loves his wife and family, both the strong and the weak and timid. Many of his children have long left the nest to go their own way, often inspired by their parents or nature, but the doors will always be open for them should they want to return.
He welcomes both strangers and old rivals into his care, but should any of them ever threaten him or what is precious to him, he can get furious quite fast.

History:
Once a wild and violent fisher pirate and terror of the sea, Poseidon is now older and calmer and retired with his family to a quiet life on shore, at least as quiet as running an inn full of drunk sailors and travelers can be.

He loves telling stories from his seafarer times, though they often sound so over the top, it's questionable how much of it is true. His favorite one by far is the one about how he became a pirate - wherein a ship made the terrible mistake of shooting the young starfisher with a harpoon. He jumped onto the deck of the ship, impaled the captain with the very same harpoon and took over the ship. While the crew followed along out of fear at first, many admired his wild and ruthless nature. A few of them changed ships at the first opportunity, but most stayed to serve under him. Poseidon himself gladly gave up life under the sea for one full of violence and booze.

He has similarly fantastic stories about most of his scars, but should you ask him about how he lost his leg, he will most definitely serve up a different story every time.

His wife had once sailed the sea much like him. She encountered Poseidon in battle, and after beating him she convinced him to help her overthrow her ship and in return she'd join his crew. People have warned him that if she instigated mutiny and treason once, she'd do it again. Now they're married for almost thirty years.

His inn is built around an old stranded ship on the beach near a popular port. (A ship that Poseidon claims can absolutely still swim, should it ever need to. Many have their doubts about that, but Poseidon is absolutely convinced.)
