This caused problems at night, because I had to wake up several times to go to the bathroom.

Don't get me wrong I'm not schizo or anything. In an ideal world I'd behave and speak
and laugh and play like him. Unfortunately it's not an ideal world. There are rules. Being kind and friendly is a sign of weakness. We have to act, we have to fake our lives to meet the social standards. In real life I'm incredibly grumpy, you wouldn't believe.

I will say though that is a very interesting response. I see the way you have manifested to you inner self like that that unfortunately does have to be oppressed in the way it does. We do eurn want to behave and act in a very certain and special way but when it comes to the hard facts of reality we do have to conform to a model and you are right it is not an ideal world and probably will never be.
However I gotta say I would have NEVER pegged you to be incredibly grumpy IRL so you are right I would never believe that!! I gotts say I am glad you are not like that on here and are like Skelbely!!

Well As I don't want to starve to death, I'm not planning to become a full time artist.

For the 'oatmeal trick' just add water to some oatmeal and warm it up. Then dump it in the back of your diaper once it cools. You want it warm, not lava hot so make sure to check it thoroughly before you dump it back there. Have a nice sit down and enjoy the squish. The oatmeal is great for the skin and doesn't stink so it's a happy alternative to messing.

For me I started by making makeshift diapers in middle school by using housebreaking pads that the dog didn't need at the time, but it wasn't until college that I actually bought some proper padding as well as to accept my desires. Now I'm studying psychology so that if anyone questions my interests I can bury their criticisms with all the ways I know it's totally normal (it's how my insecurity manifests itself I suppose ).

Well the proper term would be diaper fetishism when specifically referring to liking nappies, but ABDL proper is known as paraphilic infantilism, that is a strong encompassing interest in traditionally infantile behaviors and objects. From what I know so far there are varying categories for fetishes not dissimilar to the categories used by the kink community; as in diapers being an example of both tactile and garment fetishism that make up a portion of what is considered a paraphilia.
One thing to keep in mind is that fetishism and paraphilias are not as prominently studied, interest continues to grow though. These behaviors are being examined differently though as they are now increasingly understood to be harmless unless in extreme or illegal cases. The anxieties and depression that can occur as a result of the individual with the condition struggling to understand themselves, their interests, and how they perceive the mindfulness of others is in my opinion critically important to fostering better understanding of kink.

Alright, I'll jump in on this...
After many years I finally was able to pin down what it is about diapers that sparked my interest. I generally feel like I was born with a love for diapers, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that during potty training and most of my childhood, it was the smooth feel of the plastic, seeing a diaper just unfolded while the leak guards are all scrunched up and folded down, and the fact that diapers were very taboo for a big boy like me to be in... which led to my fascination with diapers. Today it's very much still the same on the taboo part... there's stigma around the idea of someone my age being in diapers. The stigma is a huge thing for me. So is loss of control and forced use of diapers.
So I'm curious about a few things...

I'm working at a Canadian company (not in Canada) as an IT guy and software developer. I hate my job, but I can't find any better one.

For me, just about every device I've ever worn made me feel like I had to pee all the time. Adding the padding relieves that anxiety and allows me to just 'enjoy' my denial.
Although, now that I'm used to nearly always combining the two, chastity without padding has led to close calls and one actual accident. Oops.
