Some gift art for my friend over on DeviantArt. These are his characters, Sapphire (the Vaporeon) and Charmy (the Charmander). And before anyone asks, yes, the Charmander is fine, despite being underwater. Charmy is the son of a Dragonair, and his tail flame burns hot enough to survive submersion. This, along with his companionship to Sapphire has given him an uncharacteristic liking of the underwater world.
Charmy and Sapphire are partners in a rescue team, and despite being young, genuinly care for one another. Sapphire makes sure no harm falls to the younger Charmander. Above and below water. Charmander may love the watery world that Sapphire is so very used to, but he's not a very good swimmer. So Sapphire has to give him lessons now and then. No need to worry about his air supply...she's good at providing him with plenty of air.
Charmy and Sapphire belong to my friend C-Studios.

Charmander's fire going off in water is mostly a misconception that everyone gets, including charmanders themselves. The fire is indicated of their life energy. If it ever goes out, it's mostly because a charmander died through certain means, but never because of water being used on the flame.
