"Photo-Op: Jack & Sheila Martinez: Still Together" by Glenn
March 31, 2017 would've marked the 67th wedding anniversary of Jack & Sheila Martinez - if they were still alive today. Jack (or his original name in Spain, Joaquin) passed away in 1991, and Sheila expired in 2006...
The original plan was that they were going to be buried in separate plots in a cemetery out on Long Island; but instead, they each got cremated, and their ashes were kept in separate urns. These urns can be found in the condo bedroom of my brother Glenn - who (in turn) decided to use his smartphone to take a digital picture of them on their wedding anniversary...
To the lower right of Jack's urn is the heart-shaped photo of the happy couple on their wedding day - March 31, 1950 - and other romantic symbols (such as dove statues) surround both urns. This same 'photo-op' has also been sent to Rhonda (the sister of Glenn and I) out on Long Island, New York - so that she will also remember said anniversary...
This commemorative 'photo-op' will remain in my 'Gallery' until July, 2017 - when it will be transferred to my 'Scraps' section.
