This fantastic trio of sketches by
TheSecretcave depicts my three primary urd'thin characters in my fantasy novels in progress.
The urd'thin are one of my homebrew fantasy races, a species I've created myself. They combine traits of coyotes, fennecs, and rats...plus horns! Because who doesn't love horns?
Vatch, and his 'big stick', are featured in my Dragon in the Dungeon saga. You can find it here, or on SF: https://www.sofurry.com/view/368475 When he first appears in the story, he's living in the streets, and tries to mug one of the main characters, mostly to cover for his friends' retreat. By the most recent installment, Vatch is one of the main characters, and has risen through the ranks to become Dragon's Warden. He's also got himself a badass mace...
Vakaal and Asterbury are both found in my epic saga, Revaramek the Resplendent, first chapter found here: https://www.sofurry.com/view/931243
Revaramek is a story that's...never what it seems. It begins as a zany comedy about a fiery councilwoman trying to recruit a mouthy dragon to help defend her village. Early on its filled with with shades of Monty Python and Princess Bride, zany comedy, slapstick humor, and way too much witty banter...
But gradually, as the veil is pulled back, it reveals itself as something far, far deeper and more mysterious.
Vakaal is an urd'thin pup, living in a vast desert, blessed with world-shaping powers...here, he's seen forming a pedestal on which to stand, hovering his favorite fruit over one hand, and shaping the wind and sand into dancing figurines above the other...
Lord Asterbury, meanwhile, is one of the antagonists from Revaramek...a reality-altering Joker-like entity who seems to be able to change the very story itself...Also, he talks to knives and has a feral dragon as his lover. Good times.
The Urd'thin are copyright me, of course, and the art belongs to
thesecretcave and was commissioned by

Ear size for one,
your first impression from DITD made them seem (in my mind) a bit more rough in there fur regardless of cleaning yet the clean state was impressed in my mind from Vatch.
and overall cuddliness. needless to say your characters have been amazing.
-Vatch over the time of reading DIND (and all but this years Christmas story) I wanted to grab vatch now and then and just cuddle for how he acted and developed.
-Yet when reading Revaramek the Resplendent (up to where i have read aka chapter 34) Asterbury I have had a most odd admire yet hate relation as the reader. After seeing the picture however he has enough of a cuddle factor in my minds eye he would now deserve some, regardless of his knife he his holding in picture and of course if moral behavior held up.
-from what i have read of Vakaals story the image has not done much yet except how i will likely see him in my minds eye from now on.
Sorry if my description seems a little rough. Hard to write my thoughts in a hurry.
