Very pretty. I do wish they were half as impressive here in Michigan. Earwigs are great little insects.
When I was in Hawaii I saw some very lovely foot long centipedes who were about as big around as those cheap hot dogs. They were fast too. You could hear every one of those huge legs of theirs. I'm pretty good about dealing with bugs but those things were too much for even me sometimes, especially since they have a rather venomous bite which depending on your body's reaction to the toxin could land you in the hospital.
Every time I lifted a rock that had one under it, I jumped up, but at least they seemed more afraid of me than I was of them, they were moving really fast yes, but always away from me. The only one that didn't was a mother who despite being exposed to the sun would not leave her eggs behind. She just laid there wrapped around them in a spiral trying to protect them. I dare say it was kind of cute. So I just put the rock back and let them be. ^_^
