I'm not really angry or would label anyone's reference bad. Actually many of those with words are perhaps nicer to look at than some of mine that end up having nothing but a name on them. Do whatever suits you!
PERSONALLY I really hate useless words though. I saw some really great looking references that had to explain to me that these outfits included "short pants" and "white shirt" and a "bag". Yes. I see that these are short pants.
Even better arrows pointing to the most obvious positions. HERE look! The tail goes somewhere to the butt! And these are ears! These things on the head! Yes those!
Also label it "tail" in case nobody can see this average lion tail is a tail. Hey perhaps somebody could confuse it as a third leg?
Nha. Perhaps fill words are nice, or professional - I don't know. I just don't like them. Especially if the sheet gets extremely crowded and the character is basically swimming in useless words.

It caputes the overall "don't do this" for references much better. It's directed at dA's community rather than FA, though. I feel like the most references here are in a good shape.
