Which leads me to ask you: I'm running a site (www.scififur.net) with some friends. I would be thrilled to be able to use this piece as one of its banners! The sheer whimsy of it is just so completely charming, and that along with the sci-fi vibe is a mood we're trying very hard for on our site!

Well, I did enjoy Sixes personality more at the beginning; as the novel went on and Blake was in it more and more, I started to see why he acted how he did, that he stood by the law-but would do what was right, even if the law said otherwise. He's just an enjoyable character, though admittedly it was also that I loved the idea of flight whenever I wanted it.
I worked hard to make Blake sympathetic. I mean, he's kind of a square, especially compared to Six, but he wants good and reasonable things. Mostly fruit. Also, he's sort of a gender flip of the standard western: he's the pretty and refined one in the relationship, while Six is the rough and tough outlaw. X)
Also, I'm in the planning stages of the third Sixes book now. Picks up right where book #2 left off. ; ) Currently finishing a book in the Windfall series, which takes place in the same universe 100 years later.

Yeah, the flip on that standard was really enjoyable. The part about the dress to get into Hayes' gala was absolutely wonderful the first time I read it. That moment when I realised who was in the dress... But hopefully she can round out the corners of that square!
Ohh, yes! Two new book? I can't wait! I really want to know what Mei Xu is planning, not to mention Bennet and Morris' plans for the ore... And a century later? Now I cant decide whether to be happy for more Windfall, or upset that there's no more Max and Kylie.
