Just wanted to show what I've been spending a lot of my free time on. It's a fan comic of my favorite children's show, Alfred J. Kwak. It's purely for my own enjoyment, I don't expect (or intend) anyone else to ever read it. You can tell, because I regularly change colours, character designs and I screw up regulary (just look at those last two panels. Terribel). But nevertheless, I'd like to show at least one double page. Because... well, because the internet is there. ;) It's not quite finished yet, but anyway. Translation:
Panel 1: Not much later at Alfred's house...
Panel 2: Alfred: "Why aren't you at the drilling unit*, Pikkie?"
Pikkie: "I don't work there any more."
Alfred: "Oh?"
Pikkiel: "When they couldn't drill above Atlantis**, animals got fired. Me too."
Panel 3: Alfred: "Oh dear. Do you have a new job?"
Pikkie: "No, not yet."
Alfred: "Don't they need a diamond expert anywhere?"
Pikkie: "Well..."
Panel 4: Alfred: "Come on, Pikkie, I'm no stranger."
Pikkie: "No..."
Alfred: "Then what's the matter?"
Panel 5: Pikkie: "No one will hire me because... because I'm a magpie... a thief."
This is true. Magpies in Alfred J. Kwak's world are born kleptomaniacs. Pikkie is often refered to as having an illness and not knowing what he's doing.
For a proper view of these characters, take a look at this YouTube video from 6:00: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfo40PjpYig (the White Queen from a game of chess came to life and Pikkie tries to steal her crown)
Alfred J. Kwak was designed by and is the property of Herman van Veen.
*: this is a direct online translation. I don't know the proper term. I mean one of those on sea oil drilling platforms.
**: in one storyline, Alfred, his father and Pikkie accidentally end up in Atlantis, which is right below where an oil company is searching for oil.

Very interesting. You definitely captured the feel of the show with the dialogue and subject matter. And you drew Pikkie very nicely I think. Ever read any of the comics?
Henrieke pointed them out to me a while ago and they are certainly... different. In the second comic you see Alfred smoking...

ALfred is probably oen of the most lovely cherished childhood memories i bear with me ..even after 20 YEARS for the first time i watched an episode of the series...i dont think UDcks ,as bird species of course, could ever get any cuter or tender or heart-deep emotionally challenging than what Alfred was and is....not even donald DUck or otehrs ....
