When Xerneas allowed Talc to bring Xavier back, she had to make a choice: Either he would lose all his past memories, or he's be regressed all the way back to the age of 5. Not wanting her boyfriend to forget everything they did, Xavier was revived as an infant rather than a teen. He was found laying in a small basket underneath a big glowing tree, which had sprouted since his deterioration, and from that point onwards, Xavier has been living his life as a kid. He still fights bravely for the safety of his friends, and now has to depend on the Tree of Life his death formed in order to stay alive (as if the tree is burnt, cut down, or destroyed, Xavier's gone for good!) He may be young, but he is still a hero!
