So, from time to time I've mentioned the game I'm working on as a side project. I still haven't given up on it yet, but I think the game needs an overhaul before I proceed. I'm going to try porting it to Gamemaker because I think that engine runs reliably on more systems than what I was using before. And I will no longer be limited to a 256-color palette.
Also, I've been redoing a bunch of the sprites, because I made them so long ago that the first digit of the year was still '1'. Shown here are the prototypes for the new versions of those sprites, compared with the old ones. Now they're much cleaner, more colorful, and better-defined. And the koalas are now Chihuahuas! I like the fact that that almost rhymes.
