I don't remember the name of this assignment, but it is an unrelated image that makes up another word. Catacomb, get it?
I designed this, transfered the design to a vinyl block, carved it, and made a print with black ink. Then for the highlights I took a wood block, transfered the design to it, carved out the areas I wanted to highlight, then printed over the original image with purple and orange ink. Which was. A PAIN. To mix.
All in all I'm very happy with the results. I had to make about 3 of these to get the alignment right, but it was totally worth it.
