Livestream commission. This drawing is special, not because of the subject matter, which is just a simple mid-TF sketch of a female Abyssinian cat turning into an anthro, but rather who drew it.
You see, I was a teenager when I first found the furry and TF fandoms and I didn't have the guts to commission artwork until I was in college. So I spent all the 2000s looking and admiring TF art and I had my favorite artists. One of them was Tamen. She had a great handle on animal and human anatomy and her style was grounded but appealing.
By the time I was commissioning artwork, she was working on FA as Red Dog. However, I found out she no longer did TF and was no longer part of the TF community. So I just got a simple Post-TF sketch a few years ago and let it be.
Yesterday, I was happy to learn she was doing TF again but at extra cost. As it turns out, she still loves transformation. It's just that she didn't like the direction the TF community was going and thought the commissioners had gotten creepy. I fully understand where she is coming from. As a bonus, turns out she prefers doing animal to anthro over human to whatever.
In the end, I'm glad I was able to receive TF artwork from one of the artists I admired a decade ago.
