I think the messy colours look pretty ok with the sketchy background, but I probably wouldn't do it for a polished pic.

Blueball in nothing but shorts with suspenders is not only cute, but also more wild looking and (dare I say it) sexy.

As for BB, the makeshift rip in the suspender-jean-shorts really seals the idea that he needs to be drawn in those more in that style.
