Did these last week with animal refs and no pressure to finish these images, and instead leaving them B&W! All were posted early on my Twitter ( https://twitter.com/lolzguy_ ) but now get accumulated on here.
I kind of wanted to test how to stylize some animals in anthro, and how to properly draw them in a way I find appealing - it's mostly in the eyebrows and shifting around eye positions and jawlines, most of the times at least. It's more fun to me using an animal ref to interpret the look for an anthro character, instead of just cartoonizing the heck out of something or just straight up glueing striking features onto the same base and body structure each time. That's boring! A hyena is not just a spotted dog, and a bat is not just a canine with big ears and maybe a slightly different nose.
These were a lot of fun regardless and I might do more "unfinished" stuff like this, as this is way more chill than sitting on a single drawing for one entire week! Thanks for the interest.

Trust me, sorting out those refs for bats made me realize how UGLY those little balls of floof can be, and trying to make it look sort of appealing was a challenge.
Agree though, Snake and Birdie are my personal favs too cause they kinda nail the look I was going for - I also drew those in one go without adjusting much, so that maybe shows!

Every time I see a drawing of a maned wolf, I cry as I realize just how bad the "paste identifiable features on a body" trope has gotten in the community. I mean, it's to the point where people who have unique critters as their main fursonas don't even care. Everybody just draws everything like a dog, but a maned wolf is so, so, so different from "just a tall fox", and yet, here we are.
Sorry for the rant. Love the 'yeen, by the way. Great work.
