Heehee bloomers! I know what you mean about travel—my father was a USAF officer when I was a kid; he was stationed in what was then West Germany for a few years and we got to travel around Western Europe a fair amount. I haven’t been able to do any significant travel in the last thirty years, due to poverty, but maybe someday I can do it again.
So do I! Yes, it was a heck of an experience, especially for a kid early in elementary school. I remember sitting on a tiny scrap of wall, knee-high on an adult—I don’t remember where except that it was alongside a busy city street. That little scrap of wall was the remnant of a structure built by the Romans!
