Personal art!
Been wanting to re-design this guy for a while now.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when, he used to look like this: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/1828306/
But I didn't like it; he didn't look imposing and creepy enough. He's a god, after all.
This guy is basically the enemy of Akela/Finn/Daze/all forces of good. He's the creator of all evil creatures and shadow beings they have to vanquish on an almost daily basis.
So, without further ado, some background context!
Scythe design kinda stolen from http://aqwwiki.wdfiles.com/local--f.....ineScytheO.png because I had 0 inspiration for that one. FML.
Long ago, when the universe did not even exist, there were two forces. One, Assarishizu, served the light, while the other, Karnagi, ruled the shadows. Yet both were brothers, and one could not live without the other. Light needed the shadows, and the reverse was equally true. These two great forces created the universe, for wherever their powers clashed, as they naturally did, life and death were created in equal measure. Galaxies were born and planets were created. Yet over the countless millennia, the intricate balance between both brothers would not last. Karnagi wanted more and began to terrorize and dominate life wherever he could find it. Assarishizu tried to reason with him many times, but his words fell on deaf ears.
With great sorrow, Assarishizu began to fight back against his wayward brother. Their battle raged across the cosmos and lasted for countless centuries. Eventually, their battle brought them to one of the youngest planets in creation; one which would later be known as Navras. Assarishizu was able to strike Karnagi down and imprison him on the world itself, for he could not find it in his noble heart to kill his brother. Believing the long conflict was finally over, Assarishizu created four mighty servants who would watch over the world and its dangerous prisoner.
Ages passed, and Assarishizu found happiness and peace. He kept a close watch on Navras, ever vigilant for any signs of his brother's corruption. During one of his many vigils, his eyes fell upon a mortal called Luna. Believing the threat of his brother was secure with his servants, he allowed himself to fall in love with her. Gradually, Assarishizu's god-like powers diminished, as he chose a mortal life over ruling the universe alone with no one by his side. The four servants obeyed his wishes without question, and vowed to keep an eternal vigil over the world. In time, Assarishizu promised them, one of them would ascend to godhood and take his place, but only when the universe once again needed a being of his power and righteousness to guide it back into balance.
However, before Assarishizu could truly start his peaceful life, tragedy struck. Karnagi had been carefully biding his time, gathering his power while hiding his growing strength from his foolish captors. His attack was a terrible one. He nearly killed his four wardens, driving one to madness in his wake. Next, he transformed Assarishizu's beloved into the planet's new moon, where she would forever be forced to watch a galaxy filled with chaos and corruption, knowing her lover would've been powerless to save her. Lastly, with his brother being too weakened to fight back, he killed Assarishizu. His torment was said to have lasted for weeks before Karnagi finally offered him the sweet release of death.
All seemed lost, but with his final breath, Assarishizu revitalized his servants and infused them with a portion of his power; the only power he had left. Together, the four began an all-out assault on the god of death. The battle raged for days, but in the end, the four were able to combine their powers and imprison Karnagi once more. With their master gone and his mistress forever banished, the four mourned for centuries. Their spirits were broken, they had failed their duty and lost their master because of it.
One night, the spirit of Assarishizu appeared before them and whispered them kind words of hope and forgiveness. Empowered once more, the four renewed their vow to keep the world and the universe safe of Karnagi's foul corruption. Determined not to let themselves be fooled twice, they created servants of their own: the Shilunera, or 'moon blades' in the common tongue. Together with their masters, these supernatural warriors would eradicate evil wherever they could find it, and aid the four in their eternal vigil.
But Karnagi had escaped once, and he was certain he could do so again.
It was not a question of 'if', but a question of 'when'...
