Well i'm using a bunch of plugins actually :
MirrorMe who adds real time symmetry to illustrator
VectorScribe which help to make the vector smoother and erase excess points and objects
And Collider Scribe which can generate a random pattern when you give it some assets

Photoshop. But I would like to move to Illustrator one day for the sake of using vectors instead of pixels and being able to scale my pictures to infinite resolutions and it still looking crisp.
