I like the original Blinx design, but it's very Japanese and hasn't aged well. I tried seeing what I could do to update it without changing it too much. So, I made Blinx a Calico.

That knowledge is a major reason I wanted to redesign him. Since the original design while interesting was clearly made by a guy who never left japan and had only heard of American clothing styles from the drunk bartender down the road. So A slight change here and there to make it well... Better? I may work with the clothing more in the future. But the Calico bit was my favorite.
It's excessively rare to have a male Calico. As the coloration is carried strictly on two X chromosones. So a male Calico is at least XXY. I decided that I figured a Calico's markings are too cute to just ignore, and they're supposed to be lucky. I could write paragraphs on why I chose to make him a Calico. (And what silly things come from it.)
