A friend of mine, took my sketch concepts of this craft, a "Star Spire; Crazyhorse" and rendered it into this new 3-d picture. You can find the dynamic version here; https://gist.github.com/felixplesoianu/6d7bd65a3374c5dbc6175f9b2208c1cf
This is very close to what I see in my mind.
The 'star spires' are a 1 man interplanetary craft. Think 'car' for moving around the Sol System or other planetary systems. They can be equipped with a AI, either the pilot's own companion or a volunteer for ones who cannot pilot a star spire.
These ships are capable of 10g delta-Vs, and can transverse a ER bridge safely.
The rear contains a standard reaction Matter-Antimatter plasma rocket, with 4 antimatter container pods on their own solid-fuel rockets incase of some danger they can be ejected away from the ship in milliseconds.
The 300 meter long boom affords sufficient distance for protection from the radiation that comes from that torch.
The habitation part comes in 2 sections. The normal living part, the first on the boom, is "sleeved" into a massive water tank. It's potable water for the pilot up to a year. This in turn surrounds the 5 meter thick walled of Osmium metal box, and bolted into it, the pilot is protected from even cosmic radiation, and much of dust and particle impacts.
The 2nd part, the pilot's room, is a small box as well. The same osmium metal armor, with all the controls a pilot needs to move anywhere in the Sol system.
At the very front is a buffer plate. Nothing so extraordinary as Osmium, it's a 'what ever is handy' bolted on. Usually just a few meters of an asteroid that's picked up, for it's expendable. It's designed for one thing. To protect the ship from impact dust and particles.
The engine, and boom is mass produced, and the habitation room and pilot room is bolted on within a day or so when needed. Unlike a true car however, no individual really owns any of the 3 parts. Only the habitation area can be customized by the individual depending on the duration. These are used for transportation, and light interplanetary exploratory work for very low-gravity environments such as comets, asteroids and tiny moons. Custom built ones also exist.
