This little Centauroid Jill is starting to become another favorite character of mine. Ferrets on the loose are bad enough if left unsupervised, and this little lady can really get herself into a fix because of her curiosity and playing with anything she can pick up and carry away. So when her Human companion returns from a quick trip to the market and back, he has reason to be concerned when he sees the little Jill standing in her "Corner" with a very remorseful look on her face.

"Well, you know that flamethrower you have in the basement...?"
"What flamethrower?!"
"The one you have now..."
On the other hand, you could get a "No News, Or What Killed the Dog" situation.

Are you familiar with an on line strip called "The Whiteboard" by "Doc's Machine?" I'm having trouble finding the exact strip as it was posted so long ago, but there was one he drew where a Human brings a broken paintball gun into the shop for the "Ump-tenth" time and Doc, the Polar Bear says "Wait a minute..." then hands the fellow a hammer. The Hammer quickly falls apart, and Doc leans over the counter and says, "Dude... It's NOT the gun. It's YOU."
haha, no I don't know that strip. but I should...
there is a smurfs comic book full of one-pagers. one of the strips shows the inventor smurf constructing a crossbow. finally, he aims at the target. a number of smurfs watch from behind. in the last panel you see the smurfs laughing their tails off, as the crossbow sticks firmly buried in the target. and the inventor smurf, holding the arrow in hand, angrily says, "what do you want? I hit home, didn't I!"

(Laughs out loud.) Oh Gosh! There's a cartoon in there somewhere. Of course you might already know that ferrets go into a state of deep sleep that some pet owners call "NRD" Or "Not Really Dead." The critters are so hyper that sometimes they'll go into a semi state of hibernation where their heart rate and breathing drops so low, they have been mistaken for dead and nearly had gotten buried in the back yard.
