A commission for
Stampy of his mischievous massive rampaging Vaporeon, Vapour.
This sort of rampage background detail is something I sometimes use to show what I believe the destruction would probably more likely look like. That is huge plumes of earth ejected into the sky from the force of the massive paws striking the earth. Sorta like meteors but I am sure there are some more down to earth examples of that.
It does sacrifice pawprints, and I know the fetish appeal of those (cause I like them too). I'm more inclined to use this style when I want to show motion of the character. You may recall me using this on a black paper picture here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19156383/ There I have the ejection of magma from the planet with each step.
Done with graphite pencils on white card stock paper.

This picture turned out absolutely fantastic! The pose is wonderful, the shading looks great, and you drew her at a great size allowing for a really nice background showing off her weight without having to draw too much detail.
The more ejective plumes of dust and debris work well for pictures focused more on movement, so it works really nice here.
This is absolutely excellent though, great job and thank you very much!

You are faaantastically welcome. ^^
Kinda a risky move to do plumes as it gives up the pawprints showing. I guess it depends on what people want to see more of.
I kinda started doing something like this for the new Penumbra picture as I progressed with the shading.
