It's a common misconception that dopamine makes you happy. Dopamine doesn't make you happy, it is happiness. Our every action, every choice we make is effected by this little guy. It's amazing how much influence the reward system in our brain has on our actions. Without it we'd be nothing, dirty apes playing in the mud. But with it we become more. It drives us to greater heights, makes us crave more in life, in love, in everything. But in an ironic turn of fate, that which has made us great also leads us to ruin. Craving for more leads to obsession. And we become addicts, whether it be drugs, or power, or sex, we all have a vice, and it is dopamine turning that crank. Without it we'd be but apes in the mud, but with it we are slaves, mindlessly searching for the next high.

This was gonna be a fun piece about how Dopamine is a cute dinosaur that likes to eat leaves or something, but instead you get this pretentious bullshit, because it felt better to write.
