Holy schnapps I had such a fun time making this one! ;v;
I figure they're like...either a vengeful spirit or a wendigo-esque creature who feasts on flesh deep in the dark of ancient woods and has moss dangling from their mouth/eyes/fingers and other types growing on their exposed bones (and ivy too) cuz they're so old.
