UPDATE: Sorry FA guys we are reposting this adopt because we have blacklisted the high bidder http://www.furaffinity.net/view/23133375/ for being unable to pay for a past adopt so we will be putting this back up for sale once again. (we do not fall back on the previous highest bidder to be fair and just put this back up for sale starting from scratch)

♥ Breaking our rules and terms of services puts buyer on blacklist, and we will take back our adoptable without refunding.
♥ We can hold for the allotted payment period designated on the adoptable's description, but please ask.

We had many people give us the similar scenarios and back out.
And yes we could've tried to work it out (ie. maybe ab payment plan/hold idk) but since you already decided to back out we do take it as there's no way possible to do any sort of work around and thus think it's much better not to do business with people who just back out....
It's understandable you have a situation but we also cannot control your situation and think it's just better for you to focus on your circumstance.

I will discuss with my partner about this as this is her adopt so she must be aware of it and take it into consideration, as when we cannot consult with each other we just follow protocol and our previous decisions. So I apologize if my words were rigid without much thought.
We have lifted blacklist for those who came back for adopts they backed out on (because they are misunderstandings or no idea of holds etc) so I don't feel there will be an issue if you do come back for this adopt in general. However to clarify for future adopts, probably until this is resolved we will probably feel uncomfortable doing business. But I still hope your circumstances get resolved first as that is more important.
And no. We never let the 2nd highest bidder win, as when they are outbid we assume they do not have money for the adopt or still want the adopt, especially when it is an adopt where it was held for long periods, and winner backed out after a long hold.
