"Thank you Blade for all the years of being my friend and being there as support for all I've been going through. I'll miss you old friend."
on April 8th 2017 I said goodbye to a local hockey team I had followed for 14 years. I had gotten to know the people behind the team on a personal level and had become great friends with the person behind the mascot of the team. I broke down both Friday at the game and Saturday with my friends as I remembered the years of being a fan of the team. I had reached out to Burr and asked them about doing a sketch of Devin matching my body size after seeing them draw Norma matching their body size. on Thursday I asked them if they could add Blade my hockey teams mascot to the picture. I didn't say how to add him at all, but I truly loved how this turned out.
A little history on the Elmira Jackals for anyone wanting to know:
They started in November of 2000 in the UHL and in 2007 they joined the ECHL where they stayed until April 8th 2017. They had a big fan base and a group that I'm proud to say I'm a member of called the Jackal Army. The team maybe gone, but what ever team comes in next season we will still be called the Jackal Army, but will be a division of the current team.
Blade belongs to the Elmira Jackals
Devin belongs to me
artwork was done by the amazing
Thank you again Burr
