First fic in a long while! But I really liked how it came out. Enjoy everyone!
Once upon a time, there was a farmer in the woods. Now he wasn't a stupid farmer. He knew most crops didn't grow well in the woods, constantly covered by shade and rain. He was a special farmer. A berry farmer. And his were some of the ripest that grew around. In the summer, he sold bushels of blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, cloudberries-any berry you could think of.
But during the slower times, he sold the most golden, sweet eggs you could get your hands on. A favorite ingredient of the bakeries in town. But the farmer had a problem.
His chickens had begun to go missing. Just one at first, then two, then three. And sadly, he knew why, judging by the feathers and the blood scattered at the crime scene. A wolf had taken a shine to eating his prized chickens and this was not something he'd let stand.
So he'd concocted a devilish plan.
He made a special grocery trip and put his plan into motion. When the wolf stopped by again, right in front of the chicken coop, sat a delicious-looking roast chicken. It glistened with juice, still steaming in the mid-morning mist.
Licking its chops, the wolf happily dove in, swallowing the meal in two greedy bites and rubbed over its warmed belly with a paw. But it was feeling less and less warm and more...unsettled. Like a lit match had grown into a fire in its stomach and rose up its throat to burn in its mouth and nose. It began to pant, letting out a distressed whine, looking for some sort of water to drink. There!
A hose leaked a trickle nearby, and the wolf ran over and eagerly clasped the head in its jaws, tilting its head back to suckle and drink from it until the burn went away. But the trickle suddenly became a roaring stream, and the wolf yelped as it chugged, soothing the heat but looking down as its slender, fit stomach began to swell into a bump on its midsection, then droop down as water sloshed into its gut. When it felt like it'd had its fill, it tried to spit out the hose, but...nothing happened. It couldn't even open its jaws.
That's when the farmer stepped out, a tube of waterproof superglue in one hand, a bag of firey-looking chilies in the other, "Boy, don't you look surprised, eh?" He laughed as he came over, hand on the water valve, "But you're getting just what's comin' to ya. So eat up, you hungry wolf!" He cranked up the water.
A full torrent, the wolf chugged to avoid drowning, pawing at the hose with desperate whines as its belly continued to grow, hitting the ground in record time and made the wolf look like it'd swallowed a kiddie pool. With each gulp, the belly grew out until it'd begun to lift the wolf up and up, back legs leaving the ground, then its front following suit. Rising like a souffle, the wolf groaned and rubbed its stomach with its paws. But it was finding even that was getting harder. As its stomach began to run out of room, its body looked for different measures to store water. A strange feeling overtook its legs, as it's haunches began to swell with sloshing water, taking what was once powerful running limbs and turning them into pudgy, overblown sausages.
Its chest rounded into its titanic belly, becoming a sphere of overstretched wolf. Its neck and cheeks blew up with water it failed to gulp down as it focused two, pleading, watery eyes on the farmer looking so smugly up at it. "Sorry wolfy! But like I said, you were askin' for this!" He patted over his tightening, sloshy side, "But don't you worry none! I won't let you pop or anythin'!"
The wolf gave another whine. Even it could tell that it's stomach was reaching its limit. Its cheeks swelled, its neck grew till its head was immobile, and the pressure grew till its eyes threatened to pop out of its skull, trembling as it gulped and gulped and gulped-
Before the water suddenly stopped. The wolf could hardly move, only it's tail able to creep between its legs as the farmer patted over its taunt side and let out a whistle. "Well! You really were greedy! Filled up way more then I thought ya would! Now for phase two!"
He took off his boots to avoid popping the poor creature as he tugged with all his might, popping out the hose with a wet splash. His gloved hands clasped the creature's mouth before it could blast out any of that water and dug into his overall pocket, retrieving a single, light blue egg. "Alright, in ya go!" He threw the egg in and shut its mouth quickly, his arms grasped around as the wolf squirmed to its best ability, unable to fit another bite, water leaking out from its jaws. But it was so stretched out, the egg simply floated through a pool of water into its belly. A new, strange heat unfolded within the wolf, as the water began to recede. Its body was starting to change.
It's waterlogged paws shrank, the fur getting longer, golden as it sprouted into small, useless wings on its massive body. It's back legs began to kick out as they shrank, then grew out longer, into talons that scrabbled uselessly at the ground. It's snout became blunter, teeth vanishing, reforming into one, solid beak that the farmer kept shut tight, as the grey fur became gold and brown feathers all over its body. But it's stomach didn't shrink. Instead, as its wagging tail became a plume of green and red tailfeathers, its belly had begun to feel almost heavier somehow, filled with something besides just ordinary water. It was only when it could feel its belly with tiny wings that it felt the bump of a large egg form and sink into it's belly, followed by another, and another. All that water was becoming eggs inside of it!
Like popcorn or a firecracker going off, the popping sounds echoed out from its belly in increased numbers, as one by one, large eggs formed and compacted into it's already huge stomach and started to stretch it again. The pained whines from before had become panicked clucks as the massive chicken swelled with life. The farmer let go and hopped down to admire his work as the growth slowed to a crawl, the chicken left clucking slowly as it rubbed over an egg-stuffed belly, filled to the point of bursting if anything too sharp got close.
"Hoo-wee! That spell really did work! Hope you aren't still craving chicken, big guy!" He patted over its belly, feeling a rumble that sounded out from within. The chicken trembled, tailfeathers raising, as an egg shot out from the pressure like a canon, smashing against a nearby tree, as a fully grown chicken flapped out from it with a confused cluck. With a grin, the farmer patted over its taunt side as another egg popped in to replace it, "Good boy!! Or should I say girl now? Heheh...Keep that up and maybe I'll turn ya back when you've, oh...laid about a hundred? Shouldn't take too long for you now, right?"
The chicken groaned, patting over it's stretched side as its stomach churned and butt quivered. Well, at least it wasn't hungry anymore...
