ntroducing to you, the new and improved Lightheart the Pegasus. Debuted at FWA 2017, I added a bodysuit to the partial I created last year, as well as remade the hooves and hands with more durability / better quality materials. The wings were repaired and touched up as much as possible, and did well until the LAST DAY of the con where I snapped one of the feathers (go figure).

The wings open / close pneumatically using a CO2 system contained in a backpack I wear on my back. A toggle switch is used to actuate a 4-way, 5-port solenoid valve to extend and retract the wings. The structure of the wings is an aluminum u-channel with individually created feathers attached on pivots. The feathers are created from card-stock, wooden dowels, and super-soft cuddle fabric.

Hooves are made from a molded hoof front from DVC, and my own EVA / soft foam for the final overall shape. Hooves are covered with Flokati long-pile fur for extra fluff.

Hair and tail are made from custom dyed cuddle fur (white base). A very painstaking process but produced some beautiful and unique colors.

Further plans for this suit: Redesigning the head to better match the intended style and finally bring it away from the MLP look.
