Close-up of the underside of a Bell Sioux H-13 helicopter, the type often seen in the M*A*S*H television series. It was used to evacuate wounded solders during the Korean War. The H-13 could fly at a maximum speed of 100 mph, with a range of 250 miles.

My home town got a bunch of these surplus. The police used them for years. They were probably 15 years old at the time. They even used a descendant of these once those were too old, but they had a single strut tail, and not the lattice type. They stopped using those when they crashed one. The department was grounded for a few years afterward and they had state police come in when needed.
