I'm thinking of a scene some 15 to 16 year into the twins future where their mom is telling them about how cute and cuddly they were when babies and they are kind of staring at their mom and wanting to say "Get off the 'cute and cuddly' stuff mom! You're embarrassing us!" Then Elinn says "And your Uncle Layn was soooo afraid of you!"
"What?! Why? We were babies, didn't even have any teeth! Why would bad, tough Uncle Layn be afraid of us?!"
"He was concerned that if he dropped one of you I'd rip his tail out at the root for being clumsy."
