I am sure I will be blocked and white knighted for this. So I will start with this is a lovely design, straight up god tier. But from my own personal consumer stand point, I don't think it's quite fair that you tell they have to stay trans. I understand why you say so, but once someone buys something I think it is up to them to choose. But hey, again, I respect your choice as to why.
Amaaaaaazing design! I do have one question though, if the winner did want to change the gender per se, how exactly would you enforce the trans only rule? o: I'm just curious really. I totally understand what you're doin! I'm just curious as to how???? I hope that makes sense xwx
transmasc =/= trans man, ie someone being transmasc could be genderless, genderfluid, or any other gender or use any other pronouns, including she/her but not still be a girl. all the time anyway. like me not being a girl but I frequently use she/her for myself and call myself a Girl when I feel like it, but I'm hardly ever actually a girl & I still experience gender fluidity
omfg people.. creating trans characters as adopts is so fucking simple a concept yet ppl are having such trouble....
why y'all gotta question being inclusive?? u want a cis character theres 600 of them being made and sold on the daily kthnx
that being said they are looking' FIIINNEEE I love the colors you chose! and that face is def my fav, great expression

Lemme put it this way, I am totally okay with trans, cis, whatever, to me people are people, whatever the feel like whatever. BUT on the flip side calling someone "cis" in that manner sounds like a slur. Just because someone chooses to or feels to be the gender they were born with, doesn't make them any less or more than people who are trans. Just saying
Trying to show the most respect here for both the artist and the trans community, but wouldn't be more respectful to call the character by it's preferred pronouns than labeling them as trans? I'd love some input from others on this. I mean, someone who wants to transition to a man would obviously want to go by male pronouns, so why not comply? In the real world it would be disrespectful of me to introduce my friends like "this is Tina! She is a transwoman!" Kinda counterintuitive, since half the transition process takes place in the mind. The top surgery scars are a great touch to this character, and I love that you've created something that appeals to a lot of people. I don't think the chest scars should go away, but the fact that they're trans is implied through their scars. Shouldn't they just be.. a man? With top surgery scars?
Again, trying to be as respectful as possible to all parties involved and I'd love clarification as to if I'm completely bass ackwards in my thinking.

For me and many of my trans friends, being transgender is an important part of our identity (though that isn't true for every trans person; many trans people prefer being "stealth" for tons of different reasons, that just isn't my experience). That on top of the fact that many cis people aren't educated about trans people and might not know what chest scars are, it's completely fair to state that this is a trans character.
I definitely get where you'd be coming from with that line of thinking, and I agree with mysteryinc that a lot of trans people do just wanna be 'people' sans the mention of trans. However cis normativity is so rampant and prominent that if a character isn't explicitly stated as trans, a ton of people are going to jump on it as 'wow not trans because x and x and x and x!' it happens all the time, even with characters who are pretty trans coded or heavily written as trans through subtext (and even ones pretty explicitly stated trans), or people just try to sweep their trans identity under the rug entirely.
Being a trans man/woman/trans masc or fem or genderless is also a totally different experience for a lot of people from being a cis person. You grow up in a completely different world. And no matter how well you 'pass' or transition or fit the strict linear of a cisnormative boy or girl, you'e still going to not be one? There may always be some underlying feeling of otherness. And for a lot of trans people, I would say most trans people I've met (myself included), gender isn't really so linear and is experienced in a totally different way from person to person. So by saying this character is Transmasc, the message is (imo) 'hey this is important to me n a bunch of other ppl n there arent many trans characters so this particular character has to be trans', trans being all that being trans encompasses and not just the physical element- it's also important to note a lot of trans people can't/ don't or don't want to 'pass' as male or female, so it runs a lot deeper than appearance for a lotta ppl.

That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I'm not entirely informed on what certain people prefer, I ONLY have first hand experience with people who specifically want to pass as one gender or the other, so i wrote my response out of respect for their preferred pronouns.
Just too put out a quick disclaimer, im asking this out of curiosity and to better understand a concept that is still very new and am in no way bring to offend anyone. I was just wondering what is the point of not associating to a gender if you still prefer to get called by a specific set of pronouns like he or him? To push it even further why associate with a specific type of "gender" if you can just decide what pronouns you want to be called and just be yourself. With gender roles becoming more and more obsolete (im not saying it perfect yet, just talking about the evolution of things) why are they still so important?
