La vida del joven Samuel Drake nuca había sido sencilla. Cuando su madre murió, su padre se dio a la bebida y eventualmente termino en al cárcel dejándolo al quedado de su abuela. El mismo tubo varios roses con la ley, y es bien conocido con por la policía de la ciudad. Después de la muerte de su abuela, Samuel se siente estar solo y por su cuenta trabajando para tratar de subsistir mientras intenta continuar sus estudios.
Así fue hasta el día de la invasión, cuando un extraterrestre conocido como Devilstar trato de conquistar la tierra como parte de un jugo enfermizo. Como la mayoría de los civiles, Samuel simplemente confió en que los héroes solucionaran el problema y el seguir con su problemática existencia.
Una semana después del intento de invasión Samuel se encontró un extraño artefacto, un cristal negro que al momento de tocarlo este pareció reaccionar. Una voz de un ente llamado Onix
Se identificó como el artefacto como el redimidor, un artefacto ancestral, que fue creado para proteger a la tierra d grandes peligros. Su anterior portador había muerto y ahora el Onix necesitaba un nuevo campeón. Pero había una advertencia, con el gran poder también vendría una terrible consecuencia, porque a partir de ahora su vida tendría fecha limite ya que a cabio del poder su energía vital seria consumida de manera lenta y constante, hasta que finalmente su ser seria consumido para dar poder al siguiente Aegis, mientras su espirito seria el guardián de su sucesor. Alguien joven como el tendría varios años si usaba su energía de manera responsable, pero el final llegara tarde o temprano.
Tras pensarlo Samuel decidió que su vida ya era una basura, y que si aceptaba la propuesta de Onix al menos moriría haciendo algo de valor, una diferencia en el mundo. Si dudarlo Samuel tomo el Onixe y se convirtió en el nuevo defensor, el nuevo Aegis

The life of young Samuel Drake had never been easy. When his mother died, his father turn on the drink and eventually ended up in jail leaving him with his grandmother. He also got several trouble with the law, and is well known by the city police. After the death of his grandmother, Samuel feel alone and on his own working to try to survive while trying to continue his studies.
That was until the day of the invasion, when an alien known as Devilstar tried to conquer the earth as part of a sickly game. Like most civilians, Samuel simply relied on heroes to solve the problem and keep up with their troubled existence.
One week after the invasion attempt, Samuel found a strange artifact, a black crystal that the moment he touched it seemed to react. An entity named Onix identified the artifact as the Redeemer, an ancestral artifact, which was created to protect the world from great dangers. His former carrier had died and now the Onix needed a new champion. But there was a warning, with the great power would also come a terrible consequence, because from now his life would have a deadline since because in exchange of his new powers, his vital energy would be consumed slowly, until finally his being consumed to give power to Next Aegis, while his spirit would be the guardian of his successor. Someone young like him would have several years if he used his energy responsibly, but the end will arrive sooner or later.
After thinking it, Samuel decided that his life was already a waste, and that if he accepted Onix's proposal, at least he would die doing something of value, a difference in the world. Ith out hesitating Samuel took the Onix and became the new defender, the new Aegis
