I keep thinking about getting another dog but am prone to self-sabotaging thoughts and continually talk myself out of getting past the 'looking in to it' stage >.>

Yes. Absolutely. After taking five dogs for that final ride, I know exactly what you're going through.

We do have a couple of canine spirits in the house, but they aren't dogs who ever lived here. We think they came in with a truck my brother bought about 15 years ago. He traded it in last month, but we still encounter the two shadow dogs.
