Its been quite a while sins I last drew any ballpoint artwork. about 2 years or so. but being bored during my lunch breaks at work has gotten me back to drawing during my breaks again. I only had a black ballpoint, which kinda sucks as black saturates to quickly for my preference. So Black was my only option. oh well, took me about 3, 4 weeks of lunch breaks to finish about 15 hours total, and its all ballpoint, no pencil even got close to hitting the paper. Paper is just cheap printer paper BTW...

I really like the shading that you did for most of the piece, simply using mildly-curved lines or straight lines. It hearkens back to an earlier era, when people typically did illustrations in ink. This is very well done overall, the only thing I'd say would be that the trees in the background seem a little strange perspective-wise (compare the cat-tails in the foreground to the trees in the background). That's just a nit-picky detail though. ^.-.^ Overall, a superb job.
Thanks for your comment.
The curved and directional line give both texture depth and perspective. Its difficult drawing in ballpoint without any form of sketch or preview image, (not to mention drawing in a noisy breakroom at work during lunch breaks) its a challenge. ^_^

This is a really nice bit of pen work, White Dragon. I thought it was neat how you drew each of those leaves indevidualy, and my favorite part is how you did the wing membrane. That stuff looks wickedly done, and I am enjoying imagining some of the ideas that you might of had while drawing this piece. Also, gotta call you out on how good that collar-bone looks.. For the shoulder and neck shape of the dragon, with his wing appendages back there above the shoulder plates, you did a splended job making it look natural. A finely done and fun looking work-break project
Well not sure if this still classes as a sketch as you've kind of inked it at the same time. Its amazing work expectially as the pen does allow you to correct mistakes. You can only hide them which you've done a great job on. Amazed how you can shade with a ball point too. Simply amazing.
