Here's susan at the bright age of 2: You know how it is, toddlers just won't stay on two legs, no matter how hard you try. But what, what's this? She does? You can't hold on to the wall sweetie... you're not? what's that sound, I think your daddy is home. Shall we... what are you doing? Are you walking there by yourself? Oh Susan! Oh Susan, oh Susan!

Notes:
An attempt to draw something as I saw it in my mind. Important, of course, as a marker of a monumentous ocasion in Susan's life. It failed because I took too long to do it: not only was it a particularly hard drawing (I hadn't done 2-point perspective before this), real life also kept getting in the way. I started the drawing in April 2012, and one and a half years later gave up. If I try to finish it, I think I'll have to start over.
