I may not agree with
Deovacuus ' philosophy, but those armbands do make a good target.

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articl.....rry-world.html ignoring them is basically giving them the okay to be racist pieces of shit. help people of colour instead of pretending that the people who want to hurt us don't exist. doing so implies that you really don't care too much about our well being too.
No worries. This is all part of the dialog we're having right now. Just the fact that you are willing to learn and keep an open mind is very much in your favor. It's too bad your entrance to the fandom has to be like this, sadly it's not all sunshine and rainbows. But truth to tell it never has been. Nazi furries have been in the fandom since day one, at times obvious, sometimes not. But there's always been a debate. A lot of it has to do with the uniforms. Some people have tried to fetishize them and say "it's only about the clothing style". We know it's not and we've caught them saying racist and bigoted things. So, this is far from over.
What are you, the thought-police? Let them be openly racist; that way more people will get to see them for who they are. Nobody in our society is going to hire a racist.
PS: Antifa is disgusting group of aggressive communist thugs who use their 'anti-fascism' slur to silence anyone they deem unworthy to have an opinion. Supporting them means you support racism (yes, racism), oppression and bullying tactics.

It's pretty simple to understand actually.
Antifa = Anti-fascist
fascism:
a political system based on a very powerful leader, state control, and being extremely proud of country and race, and in which political opposition is not allowed

the very term high functioning is kind of offensive though, because as someone who is extremely mentally ill, basing someone's status on their ability to function relies on allistic and neurotypical ideals being applied to autistic and mentally ill folks. not only that, but sometimes, the same person can be seen as high or low functioning, depending on the day, the situation, and their specific needs.
if someone calls someone autistic as an insult (which this was), they are implying that people with autism are bad or stupid. it's ableist, even if you, personally, are not offended

Hey hey, not meaning to start anything political, the purpose of my comment was just saying that based of personal experience (because quite a few of my friends are also H-F autistic and we struggle to socialise), the group of people I have been hanging around with, don't find when the word "Autistic" offensive unless it's used to directly offend those with Autism. The word we all hate is "retard" even though, yes, there are people of slower intelligence in the group, being described as a handicap isn't exactly any of our definitions of enjoyable.
(Apologies if my grammar was horrendous or if this spiel made no sense. My explanation: woke up two minutes ago.)

see, it's not so much political as i just wanted to give you a heads up. because despite it being not "used to directly offend those with autism," it's equating things that people see as autistic traits to being stupid, awkward, annoying, or whatever. so it's pretty much always referencing and putting down those with autism. much in the same way if you said to an obnoxious white person "you're acting like a black person," it's more insulting to black people than to the white dude who is being referenced because it's implying that acting "like a black person" is bad... also that all black people act alike!
plus, like i said, basing someone's value or ability to "function" on what people without their experiences (ie, neurotypical people) perceive and understand of their actions/lives. i have no idea if that makes as much sense as i want it to... plus, some days, i would count as "high functioning" because i can work a job that capitalism deems acceptable, can communicate enough to passably deal with life, and drive... some days. others, though, especially when having an episode, i can't stand being around other humans, am basically nonverbal and so irritable i can't come out of my room, too dissociated to drive safely, and i can't work more than 20 hours a week at a traditional job. so that would make me "low functioning" on those days. so you can see it can set up weird expectations and feelings of shame for being unable to be "H F" all the time.
plus, i feel like that term is mostly about a person's ability to seem neurotypical and hide their symptoms and work in a society that only values people for their monetary earnings... so it rubs me wrong anyway i suppose.
but we can all agree to hate the r-word. :T
(you're fine! and for the record - i have not been diagnosed, but i have had lots of therapists in the past suggest that i'm on the spectrum; so i'm not meaning to lecture you or talk out of turn, and i'm not meaning this as aggressive or argumentative so much as a discussion. just because tone is awfully hard to convey online. and my own apologies if this doesn't make a ton of sense - i just got home from work and i'm exhausted.)

Just judging by what evidence you've given, if you're on the spectrum, you'd definitely be high functioning, and in similar condition to myself, (unless your baseline intelligence changes when you have an "episode" as you call it, in which case you may have a different condition) but yes, there are days where I don't talk, or leave my room either, usually after minor social events like going to lunch with my brother's friends. And I kind of, think of words I want to say, but then just kind of don't talk, and everything becomes an irritated grunt. But those days don't change my diagnosis (yes, formally diagnosed.. Mostly for behaviour problems) I am still, at baseline, high functioning. If that makes any sense whatsoever. (Also, part of my autism is becoming obsessive, I get fixated on things and don't even know)
Nah bruh. The idea of white supremacy is a fucking disease. Also you seem to think when you are being called a Nazi you are /literally/ being accused of membership of the very same political party that perpetrated the Holocaust. The word Nazi has become synonymous with white supremacy and facism, as white supremacy was one of the core ideas of the party. If you believe that whites are in any way "superior" genetically, I hate to break this to you, you believe in white supremacy.
I strongly disagree with political violence against those with different viewpoints.
It is too easy to escalate, and the question of who gets to decide what is and is not and appropriate target come up as well.
Violence should only be used in self defense and competition, not to attack those without provocation to whom you have a different political view. That is dangerous, and morally horrible.
Also, issuing threats that then start off a cascade that ends in so many threats that shut down a convention due to different political views is also abhorrent.
