Yes, they can! They'd have an hybrid which would be sterile in case of a male, and fertile in case of a female (happens for certain real cat species), and I'm not sure how accepted the little mongrel would be in the society, not much probably. :P
They also can have an offspring, even if I still have to decide how it works exactly. ^^
