An excellent reference sheet that
Rethine-Design made for me! :D Been fiddling around with all kinds of ideas for a proper look... but, finally, they helped me come to this final appearance, for my anthro version. They're incredibly detailed in their analysis of every feature, and very open to working with you with every little detail you might want made, I highly recommend commissioning them!
Edited out the green, let's go more normal~
They also had an interesting idea... that of Marvai's tongue having a very tiny, nearly imperceptible hole in its tip, that goes all the way down his tongue and into his body. Can function as a straw, for sucking in, or blowing out, various things! I kind of fell in love with the idea... and after that, I got a bit carried away, so, Marvai ended up with a quite gigantic and very thick tongue. If fully stuck out its entire length (or even halfway stuck out), it fills up his entire maw! I guess I like big tongues...
And Marvai's a little plump by default now, I suppose. Oops.
