(birthday picture)

This is another picture showing of the all so wonderful lynx Arata as part of this years birthday gift.
Thinking a lot it seems.

In truth, this is the first time when I have been this back and forth with a drawing... (several months back when I started planning the drawings for this years birthday present fix up, I lined up this) my imidiate thought was "No, just no" I really didn't feel that it resembeled Arata at all.
Normally when I am not happy with a drawing it goes right into the trashpile or scetchpile for later laughs and inspiration however... I couldn't do it with this one. I got a weird feeling that deep inside this drawing was some potential to a great drawing. I stored in my files for a while out of sight and mind for later returning to it now and then.

I finally made the dicision that I was gonna finish it and then decide on what further actions to take. I felt this drawing just worked against me in every way possible, the shading was off at first and the whole thing was almost just saying (just toss me away as the failure you see me ass. in the end I just put on some Abba music and got it done.

And the verdict is...
I am really happy that I finished this drawing, I think it is neat, maybe not my normal style but I still get the Arata feel from it and I think it was worth it all.
(the only question that remains is if the person I based the character on feels the same way thought) ^^
