On this "Throwback Thursday", I continue my presentation of 'photo-ops', taken earlier this month by my brother Glenn (with the digital camera feature of his smartphone), when he and I took in the various fauna at the Sawgrass Nature Center & Wildlife Hospital in Coral Springs, Florida...
This week, these pix are devoted to some of the other animals that the nature center displays, besides mammals. In this case, it's the various avian natives of the 'Sunshine State'...
I begin with a bird that is usually seen everywhere in America, but they are especially popular in Key West, FL (where they are constantly roaming the streets of the southernmost city in the USA): a small rooster, who shares its enclosure with doves and pigeons.
When Glenn and I lived in Elmont, New York, we used to go to this dairy store called "Gouz Rhymes With Cows" - where live farm animals used to be on display next to the parking lot, including roosters with very audible crows.
What Glenn really liked about this particular rooster at the nature center was its very unusual 'stalled crow' - as it would go "Cock-A-Doodle..." and then pause one or two seconds before emitting the "...Doo"! He found this so amusing, he decided to take a picture of the loud, little bird...
I'll post the images of more avian subjects later today. If you want to see other 'photo-ops' from the past, rather than provide you with a bunch of links, simply click on SawgrassNatureCenter in the 'Keywords' section, to bring up all of the other pictures (all taken by Glenn).
As usual, this 'photo-op' will remain in my 'Gallery' until July, 2017 - when it will be transferred to my 'Scraps' section...
