Being pack leader means I have certain responsibilities. I may not have to raise the pups, but I have to carry them to term. Thankfully, sometimes, it's darn rewarding to carry purebred lycanthropes. So many kicking, wriggly pups in my belly-- even in the womb, my kind are feisty. Heh. Humans get one big baby over nine months. Wolves get several small pups over a couple months. Werewolves get several big pups over seven-to-eleven months.
