You all know I like character development, so get ready for a shitstorm.


I’ve noticed a trend with my characters. A lot of them are based of me, (Jackson, Sovereign, Regal) and MOST have extremely perverted personalities (Jackson, Sovereign, Regal, Ernest, Lothaire, Jeff…) My “eviler” characters are just maniacally sadistic with little reason (Ernest, Phage, Lothaire, Jeff…) and the rest are just cold and serious (Belladonna, Crimson, Lorenzo…)
I don’t have any sweet, innocent characters nor do I have very depressing or sad characters (Because that’s what makes a good story…) My angstiest character is Crimson, but that’s just because he’s a grumpy government conspiracist who drinks too much vodka, and I used to have a kind of sad backstory for him but I dropped it because I didn’t want any of my characters to be edgy, buuut…now I realize I NEED edgier characters (I think I’ve been too influenced by Sleepy-kinq, holy hell his newest video hnnngggggg). I write horror and sad stuff, I need horror and sad stuff, don’t I?
Jackson used to be edgier and I did all sorts of horrible things to him, but that’s because he was created during a time in my life where I had very, very low self-esteem. But now I’m making him a bit more like me in personality. Via Lactea is also kinda tragic but that’s only because he’s *that* oc that I torture mercilessly because I’m a horrible deer being. And I just throw Sovereign into situations where he is the evil horrible deer being.
Two characters that I’ve been liking and developing more recently are Ernest and Phage, two crazy old sadistic doctors who are the bestest of friends (Even though one’s human and one’s a rat.) I think Phage may need a more developed and more tragic backstory, as, if you read “Meet Phage,” he is a sadistic little fucker who clearly is a bit fucked up in the head. My current backstory is that he’s always been a bit...off...and just wanted to be a medical doctor as a kid but didn’t have the financial means to do so, which Belladonna’s parents helped with and now he is Belladonna’s godfather and helps her with interrogating and tactics and politics n’ stuff. I don’t really like it. I need a reason for him to be like this, some sort of tragedy. I’m also gonna make him look less grotesque.
Ernest I created out of nostalgia and the desire for a super sexy long grey haired gay anime man with glasses (Again, Sleepy-kinq may have influenced me with that). My issue is that I gave him my default personality- A sadistic, perverted fucker, so I need to develop him more.
My largest problem is that I don’t want 30,000 ocs, but I really want to create a sexy cat oc and an innocent, cute but tragic goat oc (Because I myself am a sadistic perverted fucker, and goats are also my favorite animals. Sovereign was originally supposed to be a goat.)

I also want to have this thing where my ‘sonas parallel my “main” ocs, Ernest mirroring Jackson, (Phage likewise mirroring Ernest, some inception level shit there) Crimson mirroring Regal, and some other degenerate sexy character mirroring Sovereign. Of course, Sovereign, Jackson and Regal will all be direct representations of myself.
Goddamnit. So, my checklist is 1, Create sad backstories. 2, Create sexy characters. And 3, Create more characters that are less perverse/serious/sadistic.

(Does this make any sense? I wrote this in like five minutes at two in the morning just so I wouldn't forget any ideas last night.)
